Welcome
In 1962, the Oklahoma City Chamber of Commerce organized a beautification committee. This group expanded to become the Mayor's Committee for City Beautification, appointed and organized by Mayor James H. Norick with the assistance of the Chamber. A new organization was formed to meet the committee's goals, and on March 26, 1971, was incorporated as Oklahoma City Beautiful Inc. as the only nonprofit organization dedicated to the beautification of Oklahoma City.

Volunteer of the Month
Sid Burgess
Sid is one of OKC Beautiful's newest but most active board members. After joining the board in April, he has quickly become involved and has shared many great ideas about how to beautify Oklahoma City. From researching bioswales to discovering iPhone apps designed to fix problems quickly in the City, Sid truly has a passion for making Oklahoma City a better place to live, work and play. Oklahoma City Beautiful is truly lucky to have him on its board and excited to call him August's Volunteer of the Month!
