Britton Area Neighborhood Tree Project

OKC Beautiful is teaming up with Accenture and the Britton District to plant 50 trees in the area surrounding the Britton District in north Oklahoma City.

Trees will be planted by trained volunteers on October 25, 2024, weather permitting. You can choose from the following tree species: Shumard Oak, Shantung Maple, and Shawnee Brave Bald Cypress. Click here for details on tree species.

Participation Requirements:

Must be a property in the project area. (N Western Avenue to I-235 and from W Wilshire Boulevard to W Hefner Road). Click here for a project area map.
Trees must be planted in the front yard if a residential property.
Property owner / tenant must commit to watering the trees until established (minimum of three years) and caring for the tree(s) in perpetuity.
Request must be made by the property owner.

Thank you for helping green the area around the Britton District! Through this project, qualifying areas surrounding the Britton District are able to receive free shade trees. The project area spans from N Western Avenue to I-235 and from W Wilshire Boulevard to W Hefner Road. Click here for a project area map.

Trees will be planted by trained volunteers on October 25, 2024, weather permitting. You will be contacted in the weeks prior for a site visit to confirm your selected planting locations.

The trees and planting assistance are completely free to all participants! The recipient is responsible for watering trees until established (minimum of three years of regular watering) and long-term maintenance. OKC Beautiful will provide maintenance instructions and be a resource for any questions.

I give permission to OKC Beautiful, a nonprofit organization located at 3535 N Classen Boulevard, and its representatives, partners, and volunteers, to enter my property for the limited purpose of participating in Tree OKC programming. Such participation may include, but is not limited to, surveying the property in order to locate appropriate planting sites, delivering supplies, digging holes, and planting trees.

I agree to allow agents of OKIE811 to enter my property in order to mark utility lines, so as to ensure the safety of the volunteers and the proper placement of the tree, and understand that OKC Beautiful will submit a utility locate request on my behalf.

I understand that a representative of OKC Beautiful or one of its chosen partners will work with me to determine the best planting location for my tree(s), and that the chosen location(s) is/are not to be changed once decided upon and marked, unless safety dictates otherwise as determined by OKC Beautiful.

I promise to water and care for my tree after it is planted, as instructed by OKC Beautiful and understand any future care is the responsibility of me as the property owner and OKC Beautiful is not responsible for any tree removal should survival be affected.
