Classen Ten Penn Tree Program

OKC Beautiful is teaming up with the Classen Ten Penn Neighborhood to plant 100 trees! Trees are free to organizations, businesses, and neighbors in the neighborhood. (Between NW 16th Street and NW 10th Street and between N Pennsylvania Avenue and N Western Avenue). Trees provide shade, improve air quality, benefit the environment, and beautify our neighborhoods. This project is supported by One Tree Planted and FedEx.

Trees will be planted by trained volunteers on April 4, 2025. In the week leading up to planting, you will be contacted to schedule a time for a visit with one of our program representatives to determine the best planting location(s) on your property. OKC Beautiful will process all OKIE811 requests to ensure no conflicts with utilities on your property.

All trees are 6-7 foot tall, 5-gallon, 1" caliper. The following tree species are still available: Shumard Oak and Silverwood Sycamore.

Participation Requirements:

Must be a property in the project area within Classen Ten Penn. (Between NW 16th Street and NW 10th Street and between N Pennsylvania Avenue and N Western Avenue).
Trees must be planted in the front yard if a residential property.
Property owner / tenant must commit to watering the trees until established (minimum of three years) and caring for the tree(s) in perpetuity.
Request must be made by the property owner.

Trees are offered on a first-come, first served basis, so prompt registration is encouraged. While submitting a request does not guarantee receipt, we will do our best to facilitate all requests. The deadline to request planting assistance is March 24.

I certify that I am the property owner at the site at which these trees are being requested.

I give permission to OKC Beautiful, a nonprofit organization located at 3535 N Classen Boulevard, and its representatives, partners, and volunteers, to enter my property for the limited purpose of participating in Tree OKC programming. Such participation may include, but is not limited to, surveying the property in order to locate appropriate planting sites, delivering supplies, digging holes, and planting trees.

I agree to allow agents of OKIE811 to enter my property in order to mark utility lines, so as to ensure the safety of the volunteers and the proper placement of the tree, and understand that OKC Beautiful will submit a utility locate request on my behalf.

I understand that a representative of OKC Beautiful or one of its chosen partners will work with me to determine the best planting location for my tree(s), and that the chosen location(s) is/are not to be changed once decided upon and marked, unless safety dictates otherwise as determined by OKC Beautiful.

I promise to water and care for my tree after it is planted, as instructed by OKC Beautiful and understand any future care is the responsibility of me as the property owner and OKC Beautiful is not responsible for any tree removal should survival be affected.
