South OKC Tree Project

OKC Beautiful is teaming up with Oklahoma Forestry Service to plant 400 trees in south Oklahoma City!

 

Trees are free to organizations, businesses, and neighbors in qualifying areas of south Oklahoma City. (Click here for a map of the project area).

 

The following species are the only ones remaining: shumard oak and bur oak. Click here for details on tree species.

The deadline has passed for planting assistance, but you can still request trees for pick up on December 7th or 8th.

Participation Requirements:

  • Must be a property in the project area within south Oklahoma City. Click here for a project area map.

  • ​Property owner / tenant must commit to watering the trees until established (minimum of three years) and caring for the tree(s) in perpetuity.

  • Request must be made by the property owner.

Thank you for helping green south Oklahoma City! Through this project, qualifying areas in south OKC are able to receive free shade trees. Click here for a project area map to see if you qualify.


The deadline has passed to request planting assistance, but you can still reserve trees for pickup on December 7th or 8th.


The trees are completely free to all participants! The recipient is responsible for watering trees until established (minimum of three years of regular watering) and long-term maintenance. OKC Beautiful will provide maintenance instructions and be a resource for any questions.
