LitterBlitz
OKC Beautiful has organized litter pick-up events since its inception in 1969. LitterBlitz, as a formal program, began in 2001 and has steadily grown since then. In April of 2009 more than 7,000 Oklahoma City residents worked together to help pick up litter throughout the Oklahoma City metro area, picking up more than 39 tons of trash off our streets. Organizations, businesses, and individuals can contact the OKC Beautiful offices at 525-8822 to receive free trashbags and gloves to clean up an area of their choice or you can enter your contact information in the form below. (Please indicate the area you would like to clean up and the projected number of volunteers you expect in the comments section.) Not only will the group receive trash bags and gloves, but they will also have the option of having a short seminar conducted by an OKC Beautiful representative regarding the impact of litter on a community, as well as safety tips for picking up litter.
