Community Foresters Program
The Community Foresters Program is a four-week training course designed to develop a well-prepared and educated volunteer force for Oklahoma City's tree canopy. Through a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on activities, participants will learn about tree identification, planting, maintenance, and more!
Classes will be taught by urban foresters, certified arborists, and landscape professionals.

To complete the program, participants are required to attend four sessions (9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.) and complete 10 volunteer hours annually.

Session 2: Health & Disease in Trees (February 10th, 2024)

Session 3: Planting (February 17th, 2024)

Session 4: Pruning & Maintenance (February 24th, 2024)​


Applications are due end of day December 11. Selected participants will be notified by end of 2023. There is a $100 class fee to participate in the class. Financial aid may be available upon request, please contact Lauren Nixon for details. Once completing the Community Foresters program, participants will have a depth of knowledge for tree care and advocacy and be equipped to take on leadership roles in OKC Beautiful’s volunteer events.
